Open Dress Rehearsals of The Glenn Gould School’s Royal Conservatory Orchestra (RCO)

- Location: Koerner Hall, The Royal Conservatory of Music (273 Bloor St W)
You and your students are invited to observe the Royal Conservatory Orchestra (RCO) in an open dress rehearsal on May 1, 2026.
Afterwards, you and your students will have the opportunity to participate in an open Q&A session with the conductor as well as members of the orchestra and GGS faculty. The dress rehearsal will be preceded by a presentation from Lala Lee, Manager, Admissions & Recruitment, as well as guided tours of the RCM building led by the GGS Student Council.
Part of the Temerty Orchestral Program at The Glenn Gould School (GGS), the Royal Conservatory Orchestra (RCO) is widely regarded as an outstanding ensemble and one of the best training orchestras in North America. It consists of instrumental students in the undergraduate and graduate programs of The Glenn Gould School. Graduates of the RCO have joined the ranks of the greatest orchestras in the world, including the Toronto Symphony, National Arts Centre Orchestra, Les Violons du Roy, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, the Netherlands Philharmonic, and Sinfonia Rotterdam.
Schedule:
1:15 PM - Classes arrive for check-in, option to participate in guided building tours
1:30 PM - Presentation by Admissions & Recruitment Manager, Lala Lee + Q&A Session in Koerner Hall lobby
2:00 PM - All classes to load in to Koerner Hall for open dress rehearsal
2:00 - 3:00 PM - RCO Open Dress Rehearsal
3:00 - 3:15 PM - Q&A Session with the Conductor + members of the Royal Conservatory Orchestra
3:30 PM - Departure
RSVPs to attend this event will be confirmed via email on a first-come, first-serve basis, based on a maximum of 500 attendees total. The official cut-off date for RSVPs is Tuesday, March 31, however we may close the form sooner than this if we reach capacity.
