FAQs
- What are the membership levels of the Conservatory Circle?
Conservatory Circle membership levels are:
- Orchestra - $2,000-$4,999
- Principal - $5,000-$9,999
- Concertmaster - $10,000-$24,999
- Conductor - $25,000+
Each membership level offers curated, and increasingly exclusive benefits. Please visit The Conservatory Circle page for detailed membership benefits.
- How does membership affect my donation receipt?
Your Conservatory Circle membership includes annual benefits and advantages, the value of which must be deducted from your donation receipt to determine the eligible amount. Accordingly, and in line with Canada Revenue Agency regulations, your donation receipt will reflect a deduction in line with the value of the membership benefits, which will appear as “Advantage” on the receipt.
- How are Conservatory Circle events programmed?
The RCM’s creative leads, Mervon Mehta, Jim Anagnoson, and Barry Shiffman work closely with the Development team to determine event topics, speakers, and programming content in advance of the Conservatory Circle season. We then collaborate with our guest speakers and artists to develop an educational and entertaining event series full of fascinating conversation and enriching musical experiences. Careful thought goes into curating a unique, diverse season of inspiring events which cover a wide range of musical interests and knowledge.
- Can I pass along my event invitation or bring friends with me to in-person events?
Conservatory Circle events are for members only, and event invitations are non-transferrable. However, we welcome our members to bring a “plus one” or guests who are interested in membership and would like to experience an event before joining. Advance registration is required.
- How can I access the members only website?
To access the exclusive members-only Conservatory Circle page, please contact The Conservatory Circle Manager.
- What is an honorary membership?
An honorary Conservatory Circle membership may be offered to donors who make a gift to other Royal Conservatory program areas. Donors giving a new gift of $5,000 or more to another program area may choose to accept a one-year, Principal level ($5,000-$9,999) membership in recognition of their gift. Honorary memberships are not offered at any other membership level. Donors giving a new gift of $2,000-$4,999 to another program are invited to attend one Conservatory Circle event in the year their gift is made. The benefits received through The Conservatory Circle program will be offered in addition to the recognition of other gifts and will have the appropriate deduction on their charitable receipt (see Question: How does membership affect my donation receipt?).
- Who can I speak with if have additional questions?
If you have questions about upgrading your membership, are seeking further information about the privileges extended to Conservatory Circle donors, or would like to learn more about the many programs at The Conservatory, please reach out to The Conservatory Circle Manager.
