In February The Royal Conservatory launched its new International Orchestra Series, welcoming the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Riccardo Muti, to Toronto for the first time in 109 years, to tremendous critical acclaim. For students of The Glenn Gould School, this was a thrilling opportunity to work directly with one of the world’s most legendary and revered conductors.
The Royal Conservatory of Music has announced that students of The Glenn Gould School will perform a premiere international engagement at Carnegie Hall’s illustrious Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage in New York City, on May 7, 2024.
The 2023 GGS Spring Opera — Flight by Jonathan Dove — earned praise by Ludwig Van, which said: “The talented RCM cast offered fresh, beautiful voices and total dramatic commitment.”
The final round of the annual GGS Chamber Competition was held in Koerner Hall on March 29, with over $11,000 in prizes made possible through the generous support in honour of R.S. Williams & Sons Company Ltd. After a wonderful round of performances and jury deliberation, the winners were announced.
Including upcoming Royal Conservatory Orchestra and Chamber Opera Concerts.
